Matt Whitman (JAV) US

Matt Whitman (born 1988, in Pennsylvania, United States) is an artist and filmmaker working with 16mm and Super8 motion picture film. He has been making films since 2010 and records almost all of his work using various sizes, installations, and arrangements of video monitors and LED screens. Human beings do not appear in his films except as digital images and most films are without a soundtrack.
This is the first solo screening of his work outside of the United States and his first ever
screening in Lithuania.
Previously, his films have screened at the Chicago Underground Film Festival, Winnipeg
Underground Film Festival, Ann Arbor Film Festival, ANALOGICA, Fracto Experimental Film
Encounter in Berlin, Kinoscop in Belgrade, Process Festival in Riga, and exhibited at the
Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York. Later in August, THAT WAS WHEN I THOUGHT I COULD HEAR YOU will be exhibited at San Francisco Cinematheque’s Crossroads 2022. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York and has taught at Parsons School of Design since 2014.
